HMCTS enables payment on account for those who are regularly making payments to them, this includes law firms and other such organisations with a high volume of cases passing through the HMCTS systems. This has been defined by HMCTS as more than 12 court fees annually.

Payment on account for HMCTS

At The Sheriffs Office, we are able to facilitate the deduction of court fees from your HMCTS account and it enables us to have your account debited for the fees that we would ordinarily take from you and pass on to HMCTS. This means that your HMCTS fee account will be charged and you’ll receive a breakdown of this on the invoice you receive from HMCTS.

The fee account service from HMCTS means you can pay the court fees on your account by either weekly or monthly direct debit with refunds being paid directly back to your account.

The fee account service can be used for the following types of transactions:

Fee Account can be used for transactions with:

  • National Business Centres (County Court Money Claim Centre, County Court Business Centre)
  • all offices of the County Court and family court
  • probate registries
  • magistrates’ courts which deal with civil and family work
  • the Court of Protection
  • the Royal Courts of Justice
