“The Sheriffs Are Coming” is back on primetime!
BBC One have been so pleased with the success of The Sheriffs Are Coming that they have produced a series of four one hour programmes featuring the best stories of series one and two.
The Sheriffs Are Coming follows enforcement officers from The Sheriffs Office as they travel across the country attempting to recover debts on behalf of their clients.
The programmes feature the dynamic duo Lawrence and Kev, along with Marc, Pete, Dave, Darryl, Mark and Tony - all taking on the challenge to recover debts on behalf of people owed thousands of pounds by debtors who think they can get away with not paying.
These will be broadcast on BBC One at 7 pm on these dates:
- Monday 22nd July
- Wednesday 24th July
- Monday 29th July
- Wednesday 31st July
All four will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
We are also delighted to announce that series three is now in production. We will let you know later in the year when these new programmes are scheduled for broadcast.
Who are the Sheriffs?
Companies such as us, The Sheriffs Office in Croydon, are High Court Enforcement Officers (HCEOs) who until 2004 were known as Sheriffs Officers.
HCEOs enforce County Court judgments (CCJ) over £600 and High Court judgments throughout England and Wales using a Writ of Fieri Facias. This will soon be known as a Writ of Control. Judgments up to six years old may be enforced by an HCEO.
Advice from Lawrence Grix, Enforcement Manager
As Enforcement Manager at The Sheriffs Office, Lawrence’s advice is:
“If you get a judgment issued against you, don’t just ignore it. If you fail to pay it, don’t be surprised when a High Court Enforcement Officer attends and seizes your goods. So many debtors think they can just ignore the court paperwork; once we arrive and seize their goods, the sums due can increase significantly”.
If you’ve had a judgment issued against you and you haven’t paid it, there is every likelihood that the Sheriffs are coming!
