HMCTS (Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service) was launched on 1st April 2011, bringing together HMCS (Her Majesty’s Court Service) and the Tribunals Service.
As the name suggests, the new HMCTS integrates the currents courts and tribunals services and remain an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice. It is responsible for the administration of the criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales and non-devolved tribunals in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
All cheques for court fees must now be made payable to HMCTS.
County Court Judgments over £600 including court costs may be transferred up to the High Court for enforcement by The Sheriffs Office for a court fee of just £66. The Sheriffs Office also enforces High Court Judgments (for a £66 court fee). If you would like to instruct us or find out if High Court enforcement is the right option for you, please contact us on 0333 001 5100 or by email.
