Does my award have to be for a minimal value?

No, all employment tribunal awards and ACAS settlements can be enforced by The Sheriffs Office regardless of their value.

How much does it cost to get an employment tribunal award?

From 29th July 2013 court fees are payable by claimants bringing an employment tribunal claim. There are sets of fees: the first is to issue a claim, and the second is 4 to 6 weeks before the final hearing of the claim. If you haven’t paid before the final hearing, the claim will be dismissed. If you then pay, the claim may be reinstated, at the tribunal’s discretion.

  • Type A claims are money related, such as unpaid redundancy and wages. The issue fee is £160 and the hearing fee is £230.
  • Type B is everything else, including discrimination and unfair dismissal. The issue fee is £250 and the hearing fee is £950.
